Fazenda Rio Negro
Located in State of Mato Grosso do Sul is located 240 kilometers away from the capital, Campo Grande.
Located on the shores of the Negro river, in the heart of the Pantanal, is one of the most traditional of the region. Here a series of different activities are combined with the typical ranch tasks, together with the pleasure of relaxing while listening to the sounds of nature.
In May 1999, the Fazenda was bought by Conservation International (CI), an international non-profit organization dedicated to preserve endangered ecosystems. The objective is to integrate the Fazenda to a network of private protected areas that CI is supporting, together with other local ranch owners. The income generated through ecotourism is invested in research and the conservation of the Pantanal.
Fazenda Rio Negro was chosen, around 10 years ago, to film a famous soap-opera that was shown all around the world.
